Groups in 2010

 

Several groups were hosted by CHA in the winter/spring of 2010:

February 2-6      Proctor Academy group of 12 from Andover  NH
                            These high school students did 3-day solos in the Hot Springs Canyon watershed, toured a staff homesite and            
                             discussed sustainability issues with CHA staff.

February 13-15    Colorado Watershed Conservation class group of 8 from Flagstaff  AZ
                             These high school students studied adaptation (including human adaptation related to sustainability), hiked in Hot
                             Springs Canyon, and helped with rethatching the CHA tent/ramada hermitage.

February 17-21    Borderlands Presbyterian Young Adult Volunteers, group of 4 from Tucson  AZ
                             The YAV's did their Lenten retreat with 3-day solitary retreats and a natural history hike in Hot Springs Canyon.

February 25-27    St. Mark’s Presbyterian group of 11 from Tucson  AZ
                             This youth group visited a local archaeological site, learned about the San Pedro Valley, hiked in Hot Springs Canyon,
                             and did personal reflection.

March 12-13        BorderLinks University of Portland group of 20 from Portland, OR
                              This group of university students visited our Community Garden, a local archaeological site, a staff homestead,
                              and discussed how sustainable lifestyle issues relate to border issues.
