Solar Food Drying

Participants in this one day workshop learned to prepare a variety of fruits, vegetables and meats for solar drying. Each participant also built and took home a simple, effective solar food dryer.

Led by: David Omick and Pearl Mast, who developed the dryer design and who have used this method of food preservation extensively during their years of living without refrigeration in the Sonoran Desert.
